THE STORY
A rainy day in late 2024...
4 mates, 4 beers, 4 words:
SOCIETY, IMPACT, COMMUNITY & PASSION.
This is what we each came up, with sat round a table together in a German Beer House in London, to describe what drives us.
Concerned by the state of the world and the lack of real alternative paths for young people - especially those from marginalised communities - we decided to get together and work on a contemporary solution for a complex social issue.
Ultimately, everyone is searching for something meaningful to do, yet employment opportunities are unevenly distributed. Since 2010, youth services have faced a staggering 69% reduction in funding, further compounding this issue.
Employers often demand evidence of experience for roles labeled as entry-level, leaving young people (YP's) at a disadvantage. Many lack the traditional markers of potential that employers prioritize, such as formal qualifications or extensive work history.
Additionally, providing effective resettlement opportunities for former inmates and reducing reoffending rates remains a significant challenge.
Overall, it feels increasingly difficult for the underprivileged to access meaningful opportunities. As a result, the gap between privilege and marginalization seems wider than ever before.
The Spartan Project (TSP) is an attempt to change that. Drawing on years of combined experience in marketing, mentoring, printing and streetwear, TSP is a youth focused initiative dedicated to up-skilling young people through creative empowerment and access to alternative fitness communities.
We want to ensure that we provide knowledge and access to pathways they didn't know existed. Taking each individual group's requirements into account, creating custom workshops and experiences that are designed to introduce learners to the principles and foundations of fitness, business, marketing and creative development.
